Deepening Industry–Academia–Research Collaboration: JinTech Engages in Partnership Dialogue with Hong Kong-Based AI Team

The JinTech Business Development and Marketing team recently revisited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for an in-depth exchange with Feelingss AI, a Hong Kong-based visual AI startup, to explore opportunities for deeper industry-academia collaboration. 

Founded by PolyU alumni, Feelingss AI was established with the university’s spirit of education and strong foundation in research and innovation. Leveraging PolyU’s research resources, the company has grown with support from R&D support from leading technology companies including Google and NVIDIA. Feelingss AI focuses on developing visual AI solutions for medical monitoring and smart monitoring applications. The company was also shortlisted for SC Win Now & Next Challenge and has developed practical applications in healthcare, pet care, and smart monitoring solutions for SMEs.

Figures 1 and 2 show some of Feelingss AI’s prototype devices for intelligent pet monitoring (not final products). Powered by visual AI technology, these prototypes enable real-time observation of pets’ conditions, intelligent monitoring, and early alerts for abnormal situations.

As intelligent monitoring devices continuously collect and process visual data, high-performance and reliable data storage has become an increasingly important component of their applications. Building on the complementary technological expertise and resources of both parties in AI and data storage, JinTech and Feelingss AI engaged in in-depth discussions on several potential areas of collaboration, including technology integration, resource complementarity, and joint market promotion. The two parties have reached a preliminary understanding on potential cooperation, with the shared goal of combining high-performance storage technologies with cutting-edge AI solutions to explore new possibilities for innovative applications.

Moving forward, JinTech will continue to strengthen communication and collaboration with local innovation teams, leverage industry–academia colleboration to foster new momentum for innovation, accelerate the commercialization and real-world application of research results, and jointly seize new opportunities arising from the development of the industry.
